Yawnnnn..... Today is day six of what I have decided to call the Summer Insanity Tour. Six straight days of late nights and early mornings, with four being spent in San Francisco for the YDA by the Bay Convention and two being back at work (on my birthday no less). Not a single night in S. F. ended before 1 am. Now don't get me wrong, the parties were great and the workshops where really informative with some great presenters from victorious national campaigns, but I can only put up with so much networking. I'm a small group person. I rather know a few people really well, then a bunch of people superficially. Of course the Summer Insanity Tour, would not be complete without a holiday or in this case my birthday. My birthday (gifts, dinner, cake, fireworks) lasted approximately 4 hours. I was able to cram it in between unpacking my car and getting my computer and stuff together for my law school orientation. Traditionally, I go out to dinner with everybody on my birthday, but alas it was not to be. I had a MANDATORY orientation class. I had to work all day yesterday and Tonight is not going to work either. So my birthday dinner has been rainchecked until further notice. But I did get a really cool cake delivered to me at work. After all of the craziness, I really could use 1 whole day off from work in order to get my books and school materials. I also have a 60 (that's right folks, 60) page reading assignment due Monday. This morning started with a $1 billion dollar wakeup call. The signature dual sonic booms of the Space Shuttle gliding back to Earth. According to NPR the last time the Shuttle landed in Cali was 2002. It's great to see that the mission was a success as the shuttle's reentry kicked off the 6th day of the Summer Insanity Tour. At least I'll get a breather tomorrow. WDR
