Doing the Law School Luge Week Two is almost over which is a good thing, but just when I feel I've caught up with my reading, case briefs, and basic notes, I hit the weekend and quickly fall behind. Everytime the week starts I feel like I have to climb the mountain again. Starting at the base, like what is consideration? or the difference between Actus Reus and Mens Rea, along with Strict Liability offenses. Even my CivPro class is starting to give me chills and don't get me started on Torts. Torts feels like juggling hand grenades (see Staples v. U.S. 511 U.S. 600 for a comforting assurance that hand grenades are in fact dangerous weapons). We are bouncing back and forth between the basic requirements for battery and breaking down legal rules. CivPro is at least somewhat interesting. I was able to catch some of the changing standards from Pennoyer through Helicopteros concerning in personam jurisdiction, but it still is a blur. ARGGGGHHHHHHHH!!! Back to Cooking the Books.....WDR
