Five Day Report It's been a few days since I last was able to put up a post on this blog, so now that I have a minute I'll write something...... Oh yea something..... uh? Oh yea the new job. Well so far it has been about four days in a classroom absorbing information about reservation systems, how to check-in guests, walk-in's, billing, room assignments, basically all of the behind the scenes stuff that occurs when you visit a hotel and why they know so much about you before you even arrive. It could be worse, I could have been selling churros! I know it has nothing do to with the law, but it is a little bit more professional then my last job and it is full time with benefits. Graduating from school is a bit like a car accident (not like I've been in any recently). You get a little piece of paper and a swift kick out the door. The insurance cuts off, the money dries up, and all of the things you figure you want and need are dependent on any funds you can scrounge up. Plus now having the added expense of needing to make car payments in the near future makes a job a serious plus. Having access to health insurance, promotion opportunities, and stock purchase plans can have a big impact later in life. Maybe a lead or management position will open and I can move up. I went with the safe bet (familiar surroundings, operational and location knowledge, somewhat corporate environment) rather then the risk. Hopefully it pays off. WDR
