Media Update or How I Got My Ugly Mug on T.V. (Again) If anybody was watching Hardball on MSNBC today, My brother and I were working the "pit" dueling it out with the "W"imps! Mike was carrying a large sign, and I played the role of "blocker" attempting to block the BC signs. On a personal note, I really would like to thank the BC campaign for the wonderful foot mat their signs make. It was the best $200 million ever spent. It was fun and one bystander compared it to a sporting event. Yea, we can all agree to disagree, but at the end of the taping we all shook hands and went to our corners. I debated briefly with a women who looked like she stepped right out of a Gap catalog. She asked me how I could support a candidate who supported murder. Right off the bat I realized she was talking about abortion. She could not talk about the loss of jobs in America to outsourcing, she could not talk about an effective strategy to ensure stability in the Middle East and bring our allies back to the table, she could only talk about what I consider a religious issue. Another bystander asked her if she would allow abortions in the cases of rape. Her unequivocal "no" scared the hell out of me. The issue then shifted to stem cell research, she still equated embryonic stem cell research as murder. I argued that the many cannot dictate the lifesaving options of the few, and the lack of treatment options led to the death of Christopher Reeve and leaves many talented people in society suffering. She shook her head after I told her that religion has no place in government. If she only knew who I was.....?
