Zell gets Zapped I just took a little too much time away from my LSAT prep to watch a little bit of the RNC coverage from New York, as I wanted to see how the other side of the aisle did things. CNN was interviewing Zell Miller about why he is voting for Shrub, and just toasted him on the many inaccuracies in his speech. Miller listed a number of defense systems that Kerry voted against, one of them being the billion dollar B-2 Stealth bomber, and then claimed Kerry is weak on national defense. We'll CNN wouldn't let him get out of the building without skewering him on his speech. Wolf Blitzer pointed out that Dick Cheney was opposed to the B-2 bomber program, and Jeff Greenfield lambasted him on the actual congressional record. Judy Woodruff suggested he should just merely switch parties and save all of us the trouble of calling him a democratic-republican. Zell sat there like a deer in headlights, a pure "Bullworth" moment. A classic political moment that T.V. is made for and weak politicians are not. The mental slip was also classic. "The record is right here, in the biographical details they ...I researched before I wrote my speech." If we can connect the Swift Boats for Truth with the Bush campaign in about two steps (The campaign lawyer), then we can easily find out who really did the research for Miller. I highly doubt he did it himself. Laughing my head off......WDR
