"Somebody call maintenance for the Dean Machine" Bummer. I liked this guy, I even voted for him (gotta love absentee ballots). He brought a new vision to the Democratic party and was able to bring up new issues to the campaign. I was really impressed by his use of the internet to generate a strong volunteer base and stoke up support in core voters. The Internet was not a panacea, it didn't materialize into votes or even allow for a tighter primary race. It was only good in one thing, generating lots of cash quickly. Joe Trippi realized some of its shortcomings after he left the campaign, and at that point it was too late. In a marathon nobody likes to be out front. Dean found this out the hard way. Anybody But Bush in 2004.....WDR
