Honor and Respect Justified The following is in response to a Bulletin Board post concerning morality, respect, and President Bush: I will always have respect for the Office of the President and respect for my country. Honor and Respect are qualities any person should have when running for public office in America. But respect of the Office of the President does not mean that a person cannot openly criticise the president. If we reach that stage then the purpose of the Founding Fathers goes right out the window. As for Kerry's comments, They were printed in "Rolling Stones", it's not like he uses these words in every stump speech and press junket. One has to consider medium along with the message. "Rolling Stones" is known for always having an edge in it's articles and does not censor nor limit any of it's content. Honor and Respect is also reciprocal. When Bush is cutting funding for drug treatment centers and secondary school counselors from his budget, few people are going to be looking at the man with respect. Eventually this post is proabably going to lead to Clinton's little activities in the Oval Office. Were they right? No. Did he lie? Yes. Did he deserve to be impeached? No. Clinton lied and nobody died. Bush goes from "Saddam had weapons of mass destruction" to "WMD related activities" and Congress and the rest of the Nation is still waiting for the truth. I know that the families of 520+ soldiers are waiting for an answer to. But enough of the politics here. I think we can agree to disagree. WDR
