This is the first mobile post for this blog. I am road testing my new laptop and I am currently hearing the cacophony of sounds that is a Starbucks. While Starbucks should not be a place where a person does a lot of thinking, I always have a laundry list of questions concerning Starbucks itself. I think Doonesbury is right when he complains about the small being in English (a “tall”) and the largest size being a “venti”. And why does the Peppermint Mocha have to be a temporary offering. I would have those things for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I could. It’s hard to compare Starbucks to Wal-Mart, but there are some similarities. Both have successfully killed the local coffee shop and the local supermarket. Starbucks has limited the choices of consumers (with some variations) while keeping prices high. The little coffee shop on campus is more affordable then Starbucks, and sees more of my business when I am on campus. Oh well, just another rant…..WDR
