"INS Check, Aisle 3 please" Illegally in the U.S., and Never a Day Off at Wal-Mart Behind the yellow smiley face and the friendly greeter at the door, lies a more sinister and evil motive, Profit, pure profit. The only way Wal-Mart can have lower prices is by violating the labor laws of this country. For those of you who have heard of "wal-mart welfare" this story takes the cake. Eastern European Immigrants are being wooed with the opportunity to make money and "live the american dream", but they find conditions far different then what they were promised. You will never find me in a Wal-Mart as long as I live. My Reasons Why: 1. Wal-Mart does not act like a responsible employer. They pay their employees minimum wage, and fight any raises. 2. When employees attempt to unionize, A corporate crisis team flies out to the store and holds meetings to dissuade the store from unionizing. The employees who suggests the idea are fired. 3. Wal-Mart determines what it's customers can see, read, hear, and play. They do not allow items that are against "their values." 4. Wal-Mart promises wealth to the employees and offers a stock purchase plan, but when employees purchase into the plan, they end up with take-home pay that is less then the minimum wage. The employees are then dependent on purchasing items from Wal-Mart making 'associates', serfs dependent on their master. Face it, I HATE Wal-Mart!! Unfortunately the goverment is not going to go after them and the whole problem of illegal employees is going to repeat itself the moment Wal-Mart executives figure out a way to do it again. Just a rant....WDR.
